Health Fayre – 2020

Age-Friendly Cities

How plans in the Borough can be made to measure up to this ideal.

We hope to hear from Team Catford and learn about the proposals for New Cross/New Cross Gate and Convoys Wharf.

There will be LPF information tables and time to ask questions of our speakers.

Friendship Quilt

LPF members are getting together to make a “Friendship Quilt”

For more information, call in to the Monday Project, St Mauritus House, Lewisham Park, SE13 6QX at around 1 PM any Monday or phone 020 8690 7869 to find out more.

Any Member of LPF with the skill or enthusiasm is invited to come together to make the Friendship Quilt. Many different hands will contribute to the finished piece that can be used for publicity, display or even fundraising (get friends or family to sponsor a panel).

Those engaged in the task can come along to sew in the socail setting of the Monday Project or work in their own homes.

Housing Campaign Group

Following on from Housing Workshops and the various housing concerns that have been passed on to it, the Forum felt it necessary to establish a Housing Campaign Group – still part of the Forum but to focus specifically on housing issues such as

  • the removal of wardens from sheltered housing up and down the country,
  • accessing social housing via the choice based lettings system,
  • re-sales and service charge payments in retirement schemes,
  • aids and adaptations to help people stay in their homes
  • plus others…
